Q. A ripe mango, kept with unripe mangoes causes their ripening. This is due to the release of a gaseous plant hormone

KVPYKVPY 2012

Ethylene is a gaseous plant hormone that speeds up the ripening process. Therefore, a ripe mango will release ethylene which will cause the other unripe mangoes to ripe if kept together.
