Q.
A ray of light undergoes a deviation of $30^{\circ}$ when incident on an equilateral prism of refractive index $\sqrt{2}$. What is the angle subtended by the ray inside prism with base of prism
Solution:
$n=\frac{\sin \left(\frac{A+\delta_{m}}{2}\right)}{\sin (A / 2)}$
$\frac{60+\delta_{m}}{2}=45^{\circ} $
$\Rightarrow \delta_{m}=30^{\circ}$
