Q. A ray of light is incident on a glass slab of thickness t. Refractive index = 1.5 and the angle of refraction is $60^{\circ}$. Time taken by the ray to travel through the slab is (c = velocity of light in air)

Solution:

Time taken by the ray to travel through the slab is
$T = \frac{AC}{v} = \frac{AB / \cos 60^{\circ}}{c / \mu }$
Here, $AB = t , \mu = 1.5$
$ \therefore \, : T = \frac{t / 0.5}{c / 1.5} = \frac{3t}{c} $
