Q. A projectile is thrown from a point in a horizontal plane such that its horizontal and vertical velocity component are $9.8\, m / s$ and $19.6\, m / s$ respectively. Find its horizontal range (in $m$)

Solution:

$\because$ Time of flight $=\frac{2 \times v _{ y }}{ g }$
$=\frac{2 \times 19.6}{9.8}=4\, \sec$
Now range $= T \times v _{ x }$
$=4 \times 9.8=39.2\, m$
