Solution:

Average velocity $=\frac{\text { displacement }}{\text { time taken }} $

or $ \vec{v}_{a v}=\frac{\Delta \vec{r}}{\Delta t}$
As, displacement is $A B=2\, m$
$\vec{v}_{a v}=\frac{2 m}{1 s}=2 \,sm ^{-1}$
