Q. A particle executes simple harmonic motion berween $x=- A$ and $x=+ A$. If time taken by particle to go from $x=0$ to $\frac{A}{2}$ is $2\, s$; then time taken by particle in going from $x=\frac{A}{2}$ to $A$ is

Solution:

Let time from 0 to $A / 2$ is $t _1$
$\&$ from $A / 2$ to $A$ is $t _2$
then $\omega t _1=\pi / 6$
$ \omega t _2=\pi / 3 $
$ \frac{ t _1}{ t _2}=\frac{1}{2} $
$ t _2=2 t _1=2 \times 2=4 \sec$
