Q. A gaseous alkane is exploded with oxygen. The volume of $O_{2}$ required for complete combustion and volume of $CO_{2}$ gas produced at same pressure and temperature are in $8:5$ ratio. The hydrocarbon is -

$C_{n}H_{2 n + 2}+\frac{\left(\right. 3 n + 1 \left.\right)}{2}O_{2} \rightarrow \left(nCO\right)_{2}+\left(nH\right)_{2}O$
$\frac{V_{O_{2}}}{ V_{\left(CO\right)_{2}}}=\frac{\frac{\left(\right. 3 n + 1 \left.\right)}{2}}{n}=\frac{3 n + 1}{2 n}$
