Haryana PMTHaryana PMT 2005Thermal Properties of Matter

Solution:

Let $x$ be the temperature measured by faulty thermometer $=$
$\frac{C-0}{100}=\frac{-\text { lower fixedpoint }}{\text { number of divisions between the two fixed points }} $
or $ \frac{C}{100-0}=\frac{59-5}{95-5}$
$\frac{C}{100}=\frac{54}{90} $
$= C =60^{\circ} C$
