Q.
A Fahrenheit thermometer registers $110^{\circ}$ while a faulty Celsius thermometer registers $44^{\circ}$ . Find the error in the latter.
Thermal Properties of Matter
Solution:
The conversion formula for Fahrenheit to Celsius conversion is
$
\frac{ C }{5}=\frac{( F -32)}{9}
$
Using this, the $110^{\circ} F =43.33^{\circ} C$.
So the error in the Celsius thermometer which registers $44^{\circ} C$ is $=0.667^{\circ} C$.
