Q. A converging lens has a focal length of $ 0.12\, m $ . To get an image of unit magnification the object should be placed at what distance from the converging lens?

J & K CETJ & K CET 2017Ray Optics and Optical Instruments

Solution:

Given: $f=+0.12\,m$ (converging lens),
$m=-1$
To get a unit magnification from a converging lens , i.e., convex lens, the object must be placed at $2F$
$u=-2\times 0.12\,m$
$=-0.24\,m$
