Solution:

We know that $R=\frac{\rho l}{A}$
$x=\frac{\rho \left(4 a\right)}{a \times 2 a}=\frac{2 \rho }{a}$
$y=\frac{\rho \left(a\right)}{2 a \times 4 a}=\frac{\rho }{8 a}$
$z=\frac{\rho \left(2 a\right)}{a \times 4 a}=\frac{\rho }{2 a}$
$\therefore \, x>z>y$
