Q. A conducting sphere of radius a is enclosed by a conducting shell whose radius of inner surface is $2 a$ and that of outer surface is $3 a$. Charge given to conducting shell and conducting sphere are $Q$ and $- Q$ respectively, then what will be potential at centre of conducting sphere :-Physics Question Image

Solution:

Charge on outer surface of shell $=+ Q - Q = O$
So, $V_{0}=\frac{K Q}{2 a}-\frac{K Q}{a}$
$V _{0}=\frac{- KQ }{2 a }$
