NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

A compound that undergoes bromination easily is phenol. Due to presence of $ \, - \, \text{O}\text{H(+M)}$ group the ring becomes much more active in substitution reactions. The bromination occurs due to availability of electrons on ortho and para position.
Solution
In toluene CH3 group show +HC which is less activating group than -OH & -COOH (-M) ring deactivating group.
more activating group given $\overset{+}{\text{E}}$ substitution (bromination) easily.
