Molecular weight of $X_{4} O _{6}=(4 a+96)$
$\because(4 a+96) g X_{4} O _{6}$ contains $X=4\, a g$
$\therefore 10\, g X_{4} O _{6}$ contains $X =\frac{4 a \times 10}{4 a+96}$
$5.72 =\frac{4 a \times 10}{4 a+96}$
$22.88 a+549.12 =40\, a$
$17.12 a =549.12$
$a =32.07$ amu .
