Q. A circular loop of radius R, carrying current I, lies in
x-y plane with its centre at origin. The total magnetic flux
through x-y plane is

IIT JEEIIT JEE 1999

Solution:

A circular loop behaves like a dipole with one surface North pole and One surface south pole. The lines force emerges from $N$ and will meet at $S$.So net flux through $X - Y$ plane is zero.
