Q. A cell is heterozygous at three gene loci. How many different type of gametes can it form?

Delhi UMET/DPMTDelhi UMET/DPMT 2002

Solution:

When a gene pair (allele) contains two different genes in an organism then the organism is considered as heterozygous for that particular character. The number of types of gametes can be measured by $ {{2}^{n}} $ where n is the number of heterozygous pair. Therefore, 8 different types of gametes are formed.
