Q. A car is moving with speed $ 30 \,ms^{-1} $ on a circular path of radius $ 500\, m $ . Its speed is increasing at a rate of $ 2\, ms^{-2} $ , what is the acceleration of the car ?

MHT CETMHT CET 2009

Solution:

Net acceleration in non-uniform circular motion,
$a=\sqrt{a_{t}^{2}+a_{c}^{2}}$
$=\sqrt{(2)^{2}+\left[\frac{900}{500}\right]^{2}}$
$=2.7 ms ^{-2}$
