Solution:

When body slides, $v=\sqrt{2 g h} \, $ ....(1)
When ring rolls, $v′=\sqrt{\frac{2 g h}{1 + k^{2} / r^{2}}}=\sqrt{\frac{2 g h}{2}}=\frac{v}{\sqrt{2}}$
