Q.
A body moving with velocity $v$ has momentum and kinetic energy numerically equal. What is the value of $v$?
J & K CETJ & K CET 2004
Solution:
Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by a body due to its velocity $(v)$ given by $K=\frac{1}{2} m v^{2}$ ... (i)
Momentum $(p)=$ mass $(m) x$ velocity $(v)$ ... (ii)
Given, $K=P$
$\therefore \frac{1}{2} m v^{2}=m v$
$\Rightarrow v=2\, m / s$
