Solution:

Induced current is produced in the wire coil, due to change of flux linked with it, when a bar magnet passes through the coil in the downward direction.
According to Lenz's law the direction of the induced current is such as to oppose the motion of the magnet. So the acceleration of the magnet will be less than g.
