Q. $A$ and $B$ antigens are not found in which of the following blood group?
UP CPMTUP CPMT 2015Principles of Inheritance and Variation
Solution:
Blood groups are created by protein molecules called antigens, present on the surface of red blood cells. These antigens are complex chemical substances and are different for each blood group. There are two types of antigens, $A$ and $B$ on the $RBC$ surface and two types of antibodies $a$ (Anti $A$) and $b$ (Anti $B$) in blood serum. Based on the combinations of these antigens and antibodies present in blood, there are four blood groups $- A, B, AB$ or $O$. Blood group Antigen Antibodies
