Q. $60\, mL$ of $\frac{N}{5} H _{2} SO _{4},\, 10\, mL$ of $\frac{N}{2} HNO _{3}$ and $30\, mL$ of $\frac{N}{10} HCl$ are mixed together. The strength of the resulting mixture is

Solution:

Strength of resulting mixture,
$N =\frac{N_{1} V_{1}+N_{2} V_{2}+N_{3} V_{3}}{V_{1}+V_{2}+V_{3}}$
$=\frac{60 \times \frac{N}{5}+10 \times \frac{N}{2}+30 \times \frac{N}{10}}{60+10+30}$
$=0.2\, N$
