Q. $\left({ }_{32} Ge ^{76},{ }_{34} Se ^{76}\right)$ and $\left({ }_{14} Si ^{30},{ }_{16} S ^{32}\right)$ are the examples of-

Structure of Atom

Solution:

Number of neutrons $=M-A$

Number of neutrons in $_{14} Si ^{30}=30-14=16$

Number of neutrons in $_{16} Si ^{32}=32-16=16$

Because of the presence of same number of neutrons,

${ }_{14} Si ^{30}$ and ${ }_{16} S ^{32}$ are called isotones.

Hence; ${ }_{32} Ge ^{76},{ }_{34} Se ^{76}$ and

${ }_{14} Si ^{30}$ and ${ }_{16} S ^{32}$ are isobars and isotones.
