Q. $3.2kg$ of ice at $-10^\circ C$ just melts when with a mass $m$ of steam, at $100^\circ C$ is passed through it. Then :

Solution:

$m_{ice}S_{ice}\left(10\right)+m_{ice}L_{ice}=ML_{v}+MS_{water}\left(100\right)$
$\Rightarrow 3200\left(0 . 5\right)\left(10\right)+3200\left(80\right)=m\left[540 + 100\right]$
$\Rightarrow m=425gm$
