Q. $25 \,mL$ of a solution of barium hydroxide on titration with $0.1 $ molar solution of hydrochloric acid gave a litre value of $35 mL$. The molarity of barium hydroxide solution was:

AIEEEAIEEE 2003Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

Let molarity of $Ba ( OH )_{2}=M_{1}$

$\therefore $ Normality $ =2 M_{1}$

Molarity of $HCl =0.1 \,M =0.1 \,N $

$ N_{1} V_{1} =N_{2} V_{2} $

$2 M_{1} \times 25 =0.1 \times 35$

$M_{1} =0.07\, M$
