Chloroplast is not found in animal cells, it is mainly found in plant cells. These are green plastids and have green pigment chlorophyll. Functions of Chloroplast
(i) It is the site of photosynthesis (light and ark reaction)
(ii) Photolysis of water, reduction of NADP to NADPH2 take place in granum.
(iii) They store starch or factory of synthesis of sugars.
(iv) Chloroplast stores fat in the form of plastoglobulin.
(v) They maintain the percentage of CO3 and O2 in atmosphere.
