Cloning is the production of exact copy of the original organism or cell. Two clones are genetically identical without any variation. In nature, clones are produced by asexual reproduction or by parthenogenesis. New techniques of cell manipulation and tissue culture, micropropagation etc. have enabled us to produce clones of desired organisms.
