Honey bees show the haplodiploid method of sex determination. The queen bee is diploid females with 32 chromosomes. She produces haploid eggs by mitosis. Drones are haploid males with 16 chromosomes. They produce haploid sperms by mitosis. The eggs are fertilized to form worker bees which are diploid sterile females, whereas unfertilized eggs parthenogenetically from haploid fertile drones.
