Muscular diaphragm is the exclusive character of mammals. A complete muscular partition separates the thoracic cavity housing the heart and the lungs from the abdominal cavity containing all the viscera. It is called diaphragm. It increases the efficiency of breathing. Homoiothermy (warm blooded) and four-chambered heart is also present in birds. Fertilization is internal in most of the animals.
