Solution:
When water moves out of the plant cell and the cell membrane of a plant shrink away from its cell and the cell sap, protoplasm and nucleus completely contracted in the centre of cell leaving away the cell wall, then this condition is known as plasmolysis (evident). Inflow of water from an external solution into osmotic system or cell is known as endosmosis while withdraw! of water from a osmotic system or celi is termed as exosmosis. If cell or osmotic system is allowed to undergo exosmosis for long the cell gel plasmolysed.
