Solution:
The yellow colour of urine is due to presence of pigment urochrome. Apart from water, the major constituent of urine are one or more of the end products of nitrogen cmtabolism? ammonia, urea, uric acid and creatinine. It may also contain various inorganic ions, the pigment urochrome and urobilin, amino acids and purines. Bile an alkaline fluid produced by the liver contains the bile pigments ? bilirubin and biliverdin, which are produced by the breakdown of the blood pigment haemoglobin. Xanthophyll is member of a class of oxygen containing carotenoid pigments, whith provide the characteristic yellow and brown colours of autumn leaves.
