Phtoem is a food conducting vascular tissue. In the process of photosynthesis, the plant leaves prepare food. So, these leaves are the site or source of food. Now, this synthesised food is transferred to different body apart (sink) with the help of phloem tissue. It has also been confirmed by the ringing experiment.
