The endosperm is the nutritive tissue present in seed which provides nutrition to the developing embryo. In some seeds, endosperm is completely consumed during development of embryo, thus mature seeds lacks endosperm, such seeds are called as non-endospermic seeds, e.g., pea, groundnut.
