Solution:
Soil texture is a physical structure of the soil which is due to size, proportion and arrangement of its constituents. Three main types of soil texture are sandy, clay and loam. They are based on the proportion of three types of mineral particles (sand, clay and silt). Loam soils contain 20% clay, 40% sand and 40% silt. They have good mineral nutrition, aeration and hydration. Therefore, loam soils are the best for plant growth.
