Solution:

Pteridophyta is the first land plants that has developed certain unique features:
1. There is a presence of conducting tissues, like xylem and phloem.
2. They have truly differentiated roots, rhizomatous stem, and leaves.
3. They have the diploid sporophytic generation which is predominant and the haploid gametophytic generation much shorter.
4. They are a versatile group, that includes the Horsetails (Equisetum of Class Sphaenopsida) and Fern (Dryopteris of Class Pteropsida).
Sex organs in Pteridophytes are multicellular and jacketed. Jacketed sex organs are enclosed in a sterile cell called a jacket. This is done for the preservation of sex cells. All land plants (Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, and Conifers) have jacketed sex organs and are multicellular.
