Ribosomes are factories of protein synthesis in both prokaryotes as well as in eukaryotes. In prokaryotes, 70S type of ribosomes are found. Each 70S ribosome is consisted of a large 50S subunit and a small 30S subunit while the eukaryotic ribosomes are 80S type. Each of Which is consisted of a 60S layer subunit and a 40S, smaller subunit.
