The calyx of family-Solanaceae are gamosepalous, persistant and after much enlarged in fruit. The calyx of family-Compositae (Asteraceae) are either very rudimentary or absent. Sometimes the calyx modified into a large number of hair-like structure called pappus. In family-Malvaceae the calyx consists of five sepals. Which are united to each other sepaloid and inferior. Perianth are found in family-Gramineae.
