Solution:

Polyembryony is the development of more than one embryos in the same seed. It was first discovered by Leeuwenhoek in in Citrus. In Pinus cleavage and simple polyembryony is found. In cleavage polyembryony more than one embryos are formed from one oospore while in simple polyembryony more than one embryos are developed as a result of fertilization of different archegonia. In Selaginella the oospore divides and develops into single embryo. The embryo thrust down into the tissue of female gametophyte by suspensor. The embryo differentiate into foot, root, primary stem with two rudimentary leaves and rhizophore.
