There are two ovaries in female cockroach, one on either side of the alimentary canal. Each ovary consists of eight ovarioles or ovarian tubules which produce ova. All the filaments of the eight ovarioles of each ovary are united to form a ligament and the ligaments of both ovaries meet in the middle line and get attached to the fat bodies. Ovarioles pass the ova to the oviduct.
