The total distance between six successive nodes = 85cm
From the relation between the distance of nodes and wavelength of the wave s=85=2(n−1)λ=2(6−1)λ=25λ
where, λ = wavelength of the wave ∴λ=52×85=34cm=0.34m
Hence, the speed of sound in the gas = v λ =1000×0.34=340ms−1
