Solution:
A mule is the offspring of a male donkey (a jack) and a female horse (a mare). The mules are always sterile. These animals are produced by interspecific hybridization. Male and female animals of two different species are mated to get the progeny with combined desirable features of both the parents and may be of considerable economic value.
