Solution:
Einstein's photoelectric equation can be written as hf=k+ϕ
but k = eVs,Vs, being stopping potential ∴hf=eVs+ϕ ... (i)
So, hf1=eV1+ϕ ... (ii)
and hf2=eV2+ϕ ... (iii)
Subtracting Eq. (ii) from Eq. (iii), we get h(f1−f2)=e(V1−V2)
or eV2=eV1−h(f1−f2)
or V2=V1+eh(f2−f1)
