WBCs are also called leucocytes as they are colourless. They are of two types based on nucleus shape and nature of cytoplasm-
Granulocytes:- They are polymorphonuclear WBC and are produced in Bone Marrow. They are acidophils, basophils and neutrophils.
Agranulocytes:- They are mononuclear WBC and are produced n bone marrow. They are monocytes and lymphocytes.
Based on their abundance in blood, the leucocytes are arranged in the following descending manner-
