Solution:

Shrinkage of the protoplast of a cell from its cell under the influence of hypertonic solution is called plasmolysis. Due to plasmolysis the protoplast separates from the cell wall and assumes a spherical form. The space between nucleus and plasma membrane is occupied by hypotonic solution i.e., like the nature of cell protoplasm as compare to external solution.
