In the leaves of plants, the vascular bundles are surrounded by bundle sheath of larger parenchymatous cells, which in turn are surrounded by mesophyll cells. Bundle sheath cells have a high density of larger chloroplasts which always lack grana whereas chloroplasts of mesophyll cells are smaller.
