Solution:

The chordae tendineae are a group of tough, tendinous strands in the heart. They are commonly referred to as the “heart strings” since they resemble small pieces of string. Functionally, the chordae tendineae play a vital role in holding the atrioventricular valves in place while the heart is pumping blood. The bicuspid valve is the valve in the heart between the left atrium and left ventricle. The valve opens to allow blood to flow from atrium into the ventricle. Thus if the bicuspid valve is partially non-functional, then the blood will flow back into the atrium and thus reducing flow of blood into the aorta.
