Neural tissue consists of two types of cells :
Non-excitatory cells
These are also known as neuroglial or glial cells forming more than half of the nervous tissue.
These non-neural cells provide support and nutrition to neurons and maintain homeostasis.
Excitatory cells or neurons
Neuron is the longest cell of human body (of Animal kingdom as well).
It is the structural and functional unit of nervous system.
