Heterospory: When more than one type of spores are found in strobilus or in a cone, then this specialty is known as heterospory and such plants are evolutionary developed known as heterosporous plants. Depending upon spore differentiation plants are homosporous (similar spores) and heterosporous (with two types of spores), smaller male microspores and larger female megaspores.
