Agarose gel electrophoresis process is a method of separating nucleic acids based on their size as these molecules move from negative to positive pole due to the developed potential difference. The agarose gel has equal-sized pores in which the bigger fragment will move slower than the smaller one supporting separation of the nucleic acids. From the image, it is clear that well 2, 3 and 4 show fragmentation of the DNA added in it as there is formation of bands. Whereas in well 1, the there is only one band which means that the DNA in the well 1 is not digested or broken into fragments.
