Solution:

Cryptorchidisrn or failure of one or both of the testes to descend into the scrotum is caused by deficient secretion of testosterone by foetal testes. If spontaneous descent does not occur by the age of one year, hormonal injection is given. Retention of testes in the abdomen results in sterility.
